There are different types of virtual field trips:
1. Expeditions where you join the team and interact with them as they explore the world. Timeframe and availability of class during the conference time is needed.
2. Virtual tour of important places such as national parks, and historical or geographic areas or zoos put together by experts, where you have activities, lots of photos, some 360 degree views and the opportunity to ask the experts questions. One of the great capabilities is to add live web cams to places like zoos so students can watch live video.
3. Virtual field trip put together teachers or subject specialist based on what students need to learn, with thinking questions and activities, and specific links to use. There are Virtual multimedia field trips to teach one subject such as coal mining or math. You can set your own virtual field trips with Google Earth or Trailfire.com.
